Parlamentar destaca importância de reconhecer o legado e eternizar a história de Siqueira Campos
O vereador Josmundo destacou a importância da aprovação do Projeto de Lei nº 252/2025, que altera o nome da Avenida Teotônio Segurado para Avenida Siqueira Campos. Para ele, a mudança é um reconhecimento à trajetória de José Wilson Siqueira Campos, responsável pela criação do Tocantins e pela fundação de Palmas.
“Siqueira transformou em realidade o sonho de gerações, entregando ao povo um Estado independente e uma capital planejada. Dar seu nome à principal avenida da cidade é mais uma forma justa de eternizar sua história”, afirmou Josmundo.
O parlamentar ressaltou ainda que a homenagem não apaga o legado de Joaquim Teotônio Segurado, figura importante na luta pela separação do Estado.
O projeto segue agora para sanção do prefeito Eduardo Siqueira Campos.
